As I do every January, I’ve researched some of the big jewellery trends for 2021 to share with you. This January however is unlike any other with the country in a national lockdown and us feeling like no point getting all dressed up with nowhere to go! But I do feel like jewellery has an ability to lift ones spirits and the power to give even the most loungiest of loungewear a much needed lift. Jewellery is a great purchase to elevate your spirits as it will make you feel instantly dressed up even if you’re living in your comfies.

There are trends to suit all moods and tastes, a strong chain will lift your look whilst a neon earring is guaranteed to energise any lack lustre casual stay at home look. Meanwhile the cuff makes a welcome return whether worn on the wrist or high on the arm.

Dreaming of sunshine days and spending time abroad are represented with beads and shell jewels. And nothing will beat the earring, whether in single or double shoulder dusting form to lift our spirits this Spring.

Here are my favourite jewellery trends for the Season ahead.

A vibrant injection of intense colour is what we all need after a lacklustre year and a miserable January. Eighties neon was seen at Versace, whilst Chanel showcased ladylike pearls with splashes of hot pink.

Pearls haven’t lost their modernised look that we’ve seen in previous seasons. This Season they become outsized and elaborate.

Chanel                                                                        Erdem

Not having lost the ability to make a contemporary statement, the singular or mismatched earring returned at Miu Miu & Fendi. Great news if you have earrings that seems to have lost their friend.

Acne                                                          Stella McCartney

My personal favourite of the trends, and the joy that you can gaze away at it whilst you tap that keyboard working from home as well as when we all enjoy that post lockdown freedom! It can add instant pizzazz and you can wear it any which way you like. At Chloe, sculptural cuffs in mixed materials were worn on the wrist, forearm & upper arm. Celine comprised of hair scrunchies and for the ultimate power look , as seen at Lanvin you can wear them in pairs.

Lanvin                                              Alexander McQueen                                              Celine

A relaxed, beachy vibe was the order of the day for many designers. Cue colourful beaded chokers & star fish inspired brooches at Versace. Natural materials are also an ongoing Summer theme with layers of shells whilst we dream of sunnier days to come.

Jason Wu                                                     Versace                                           Alberta Ferretti

My other favourite trend, chains are back and stronger than ever. Chunky chain necklaces may well be the only accessory you need this Season. Giving instant polish to any look , the chain keeps taking new forms, at YSL a slinky, long layered look with tassels whilst D&G went for a maximal layering of multiple chains mixed with beads & charms.

Victoria Beckham                                           Baleniciaga                                          Louis Vuitton

Lastly bags as necklaces – chic but delightfully irrational

I hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading.
